Performing and Demonstration Groups
Participating Groups – Invited and Honor:
1. All directors and music teachers accompanying performing groups must be members of TMEA and pay convention registration fees.
2. The Band Vice-President is responsible for the stage set-up in the Theater and any other performance venue for band/orchestra.
3. All invited and performing groups and directors will abide by the TMEA Code of Conduct.
4. The Vocal Vice-President is responsible for choosing the orchestra which accompanies the All-State Choirs. The chosen orchestra will be provided a performance opportunity at the convention that year. The Vocal Vice-President shall consult with the Orchestra Vice-President and the Executive Director before extending the invitation.
5. One plaque will be given to each All-State conductor; one to each school who wins Honor Band or Honor Orchestra, and one to the director of that group. All other participating groups will receive a certificate of appreciation for participation.
6. TMEA will furnish the following equipment for invited and honor group ensembles as needed and appropriate: chairs, stands, pianos, podiums, risers and shells.
Percussion equipment is not provided.
Demo Groups:
1. All directors and music teachers accompanying demo groups must be members of TMEA and pay convention registration fees.
2. All demo groups and directors will abide by the TMEA Code of Conduct.
3. Demo groups should be kept to a minimum and utilized in a manner in which minimizes the need for K-12 students to miss school days.
4. TMEA will furnish the following equipment for demo group ensembles as needed and appropriate: chairs, stands, keyboards
5. Demo groups appropriate for use in the Musical Showcase may be extended an invitation to perform in that venue.
Showcase Groups:
1. Showcase groups are selected to perform in the music showcase areas.
2. Groups are selected from the demonstration groups first, then others.
3. Groups must perform acoustically and will be limited in size in order to control bleed-over to adjoining clinic and rehearsal rooms.
(Exception – Bridge Hall Showcase)
4. Refer all possible Showcase Groups to the Deputy Director for consideration.
5. Vice-Presidents will not commit to nor schedule Showcase Groups.

2. Locate the correct concert listing by Session Number (Do not change this number.)
Click on the session title to edit the performing or demonstration group information.

3. Update the name of the event to“Concert: Title”. Keep the word “Concert:” in front of the title.
4. Insert the formal group name as it is to appear on a certificate or plaque.
5. Insert the TMEA ID for the primary director.
A) If there are secondary directors, send this information to Frank Coachman, Deputy Director.
6. Do items 4 & 5 for Demo groups, but adding them to their respective clinic session.
7. Click the Submit button to save your changes.
