Attend the nation’s premier music educators convention
February 9-12, 2022
San Antonio, Texas
Experience unparalleled professional development, inspiring performances, and the best buys on anything the music industry has to offer. Over 300 clinics and 100 performances are presented, and more than 400 companies exhibit products and services.
The 2022 Clinic/Convention will be held in San Antonio (with no virtual component). The City of San Antonio currently requires all individuals age 2 and above, regardless of vaccination status, to wear masks inside the Henry B. González Center. TMEA will continue to evaluate the impact of COVID and will update attendance safety protocols as the event nears. Any change from the event being in-person will be decided by the TMEA Executive Board closer to the scheduled event and will be widely announced.
TMEA Clinic/Convention Purpose
Held annually, the TMEA Clinic/Convention provides unparalleled opportunities for professional development for current and future music educators at every level and discipline. Each TMEA Division will host a diverse program of clinics to ensure every member has multiple offerings to foster their professional advancement and to help them in their personal support of all students through music education. Rooted in our commitment to excellence in music education, our convention will include performances by ensembles at every grade level and will feature the rehearsals and performances of our TMEA All-State ensembles. Our convention exhibit hall is a key component of our event, as our partners in the music industry commit to offering competitive prices and services to all attendees. All aspects of our annual event will further TMEA’s commitment to music education for all and will abide by TMEA’s convention inclusivity pledge (below).
Our Convention Inclusivity Pledge
TMEA is committed to providing a positive experience for all convention attendees. We expect every participant and presenter to adhere to our association’s commitment to offering an inclusive, respectful convention environment that invites participation from all, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, sexual orientation or identity, education, disability, or other unique characteristics. Participants should report any behavior inconsistent with the principles outlined here, to TMEA staff.
