TFME Convention Information
TMEA would like to invite you and your chapter members to the TMEA Annual Clinic/Convention. We are very excited about the growth of Texas Future Music Educators chapters throughout the state and hope that you and your chapter can attend this year’s convention. TFME members will not need to pay any convention registration fees because they are included with TFME membership fees.
Convention Travel Grant
For TFME chapters attending the convention, a grant of up to $500.00 ($50 per student, up to 10 students) for student travel expenses (bus, hotel) is available. Receipts are required for reimbursement. Use the forms linked here to apply before the convention and submit your final documentation after the convention.
There are several events that have been planned with TFME members in mind. The online searchable convention schedule and College Night details will be available in January.
You must make your own housing arrangements for your students attending convention. Please do not use the TMEA housing system to reserve rooms.
While there is no additional charge for TFME students to attend the convention, student dues must be received by January 19. Chaperone badges are limited to 1 for every 10 students attending the convention. Family badges can be purchased at the convention visitors booth for $15 each if you have additional chaperones. You may submit your chaperone list by email to Kay Vanlandingham by January 19.
Please remember that you and all other directors attending with your chapter must be current TMEA members and pay convention registration fees. You can renew your membership and register for the convention online by the preregistration deadline for the lowest cost, or you can take care of these items at the convention.
