Required Student Forms

During the week of January 15, All-State students will access/update participation forms at www.tmea.org/all-state/members. Their director will be emailed login information the week of January 15). Students must complete and sign all forms as required before leaving for San Antonio. Properly completed forms are required for them to register as an All-State musician at the convention.

Getting to the Concert

All-State concerts are held on the Saturday of the TMEA Clinic/Convention. Consider heavy traffic, parking, shuttle wait time/walk time, and the 1.3-million-square-foot convention center navigation time when you plan your travel. You will walk a lot. Wear comfortable shoes and layers to help you remain comfortable in the wide range of temperatures throughout the center.

Convention Badges

Entrance to concerts does not require a convention badge. However, if you arrive in time, you should go through the amazing exhibit hall while in San Antonio, and this does require a convention badge. Get your free for All-State Family badge in the registration area at the Visitors / All-State Family booth. Registration and Exhibit Hall Hours

All-State Student Housing

All-State student housing is reserved by TMEA and is assigned via housing requests submitted by the students’ directors the week following the Band/Vocal Area auditions in January. Every effort is made to place students from the same school together in a hotel room; however, this is not always possible given the number of All-State students available from a school. Parents can make alternate housing arrangements; however, TMEA encourages students to stay in TMEA blocked housing as sharing a room with other All-State musicians is part of the overall experience for the student.

Family Housing

TMEA is not able to block housing for parents who plan to attend. We suggest that you use any available online reservation system to locate housing (e.g., Orbitz, Travelocity, etc.). To help your planning, consult the concert schedule.
