Unlocking Vibrato is designed to give orchestra teachers practical, effective strategies for introducing and developing vibrato with their students — all while maintaining class momentum and engagement. In this course, Amanda Su covers step-by-step techniques for teaching vibrato on violin, viola, cello, and bass to ensure that every student progresses successfully. Whether you’re just introducing vibrato or refining your students’ technique, this course will help you unlock beautiful, controlled vibrato across your entire string section.
About the Presenter
Amanda Su is in her twelfth year as the Director of Orchestras at Curtis Middle School in Allen, Texas. The Curtis Middle School Symphony Orchestra was named the Winner of the TMEA Middle School Honor Full Orchestra Competition in 2020 and 2023. Mrs. Su was awarded the 2017 “Marjorie Keller” Outstanding Young Teacher of the Year Award by the Texas Chapter of ASTA. Mrs. Su was also honored as the 2020 Curtis Middle School Teacher of the Year. In addition to her teaching, Mrs. Su is an active clinician and judge in the Dallas area and around the state.
