Course Description

This course examines the challenges facing Texas public schools and their impact on fine arts programs, with a focus on sustaining success in under-resourced communities. Dr. Jason Levin shares practical strategies for advocating for your program, communicating with administrators and stakeholders, and clearly articulating your program’s value. Participants will explore ways to build community partnerships, engage alumni, generate support, and promote their program through print and social media, while strengthening their ability to tell their story and define their “why.”

About the Presenter

Dr. Jason Levin currently serves as Director of Fine Arts and Director of Bands for Caldwell ISD in Caldwell, Texas. Over the past three decades, he has served as a band director in Crosbyton CISD, Lubbock Estacado HS, George Bush HS, and Lamar Consolidated HS. Dr. Levin was also an AP in Katy ISD and Sealy ISD during the pandemic and was the Director of Fine Arts in Victoria ISD. Dr. Levin earned his Bachelor of Music from Texas Tech University, his Master in Education in Educational Administration from Lubbock Christian University, and his Doctor of Education in Professional Leadership from the University of Houston.
