Color Guard

Royse City HS is accepting resumes for the position of Color Guard/Winter Guard Director. This position will start as soon as possible after the interview process. Since marching band season is coming to a close in the next few weeks, the new hire will be starting off mostly with the Winter Guard season.

The RCHS Color Guard has placed well at marching competitions (top 3 consistently) over the past several years. The Winter Guard has also experienced success in the past several years, medaling at NTCA multiple times and beginning competition in WGI events.

Applicants should be available to attend all guard activities (rehearsals, Guard sectionals, contests). The RCHS Color Guard/Winter Guard meets during a class in the school day as well as after school rehearsals throughout the school year (2-3 days per week). The teacher must be available to teach class during the school day and attend all rehearsals (certification not required).

Applicants should be well versed and accomplished in teaching all guard equipment (rifle, sabre, flags). Applicants that are experienced in writing/teaching choreography are preferred. Pay is very competitive.
