Head Band Director - Creekside High School
Hutto ISD
To start January 2027
Build the tradition. Shape the culture. Lead the future.
Hutto ISD is seeking an outstanding Head Band Director to launch and lead the Band program at Creekside High School, a brand-new high school opening in Fall 2027. Located northeast of Austin, Creekside will initially serve students in grades 9 and 10 from the growing communities north of US 79, with the opportunity to establish a lasting tradition of musical excellence from the very beginning.
This is a unique opportunity for a visionary, student-centered leader to build a high school band program from the ground up: shaping its culture, establishing its traditions, developing its instructional program, and preparing students for success in marching band, concert band, jazz band, and other performance opportunities.
The new program will benefit from Hutto ISD’s established commitment to Visual & Performing Arts education and a strong tradition of student achievement. The district’s existing high school band program serves 300 students and has earned recognitions at BOA regionals, UIL, and local invitational competitions. Its Color Guard program has earned regional and state-level honors through TCGC and WGI. Concert bands are frequent UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation Sweepstakes ensembles.
Creekside’s founding Head Band Director will have the opportunity to bring that tradition of excellence into a new school community, officially beginning in the role this winter. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong musical and instructional leadership, a commitment to student growth, and the ability to build a positive, goal-oriented program in partnership with students, families, campus leadership, and the Fine Arts Department.
Join Hutto ISD and help write the first chapter of Creekside High School’s story. For a motivated music educator ready to build something lasting, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a new campus and generations of future musicians.
