The Research Committee is pleased to announce the call for proposals for presentations at the TMEA Clinic/Convention Research Poster Session. The committee invites submissions from members in all TMEA divisions, including college students. Selected authors will present their research at an informal session in which interested music teachers can learn about the research and discuss applications to music teaching. Presenters will prepare a 40″ x 40″ poster that describes the research and will submit an abstract for inclusion in the electronic handout made available online.
Proposals will include an abstract of no more than 750 words, providing a concise, yet thorough, summary of the research project, and be submitted in a Microsoft Word document that follows this template. To ensure a blind review, include only your abstract title. Do not include author information in this summary. Prepare your abstract in this template document before beginning your submission.
NEW: The Research Committee would like to acknowledge at the convention one outstanding project submitted by an undergraduate or graduate student. Co-authored projects with faculty will also be considered if the primary author is a student. Students who would like to be considered will be given a chance to opt in during the submission process.
Submissions open September 1 and close October 15 for the following convention year.
If you have questions about this submission process, please contact Amy Simmons via email.
