Recording Process
Note: Instruments that recorded after the Area auditions will not re-audition for placement. Their recorded audition rank will be used for organization and chair placement.
See the Band Division Appendix, starting page 15, for the State Audition procedures and rules.
To retrieve recording links for your students, go to the audition entry system, view contests for your campus(es) and look for the 6A All-State and 5A All-State auditions. In the audition details will be a page with the recording links. Any director with access to your campus record can complete this task.
Each cut must be recorded into its own track on the recording page, must be done in one take, and can only be recorded once. There must be no more than 10 minutes between recording each track, except in the case of issues with instruments or recording equipment.
Use the practice track on the student's recording page or the recording test page to set up recording equipment and verify volume and sound is good before recording the audition tracks.
Once all tracks have been recorded and played back to verify they are correct, use the button at the bottom of the recording page to verify the entry. An entry must be verified to be heard for the audition. If there are issues with any tracks, leave the entry unverified and contact the Band Division Vice-President with details about the issue.
