Governor Perry Speaks at TMEA

Mike Ware is presently the Director of Choral Activities at Georgetown High School. Choirs under Mr. Ware’s direction have performed in Kennedy Center, Constitution Hall and most recently in Carnegie Hall, April 27, 2003 and May 9, 2006. His Choirs have performed twice for the Texas Music Educators Association in San Antonio and for the Southwest American Choral Director’s Association in Dallas. In addition, Choirs under his direction have earned best in class honors and Outstanding awards at festivals in Texas, Tennessee, Florida, California, and Washington D. C.

Ware has served TMEA extensively in Region 9 and at the state level for the past 16 years. His professional affiliations include TMEA, ACDA, TCDA, TMAA, and ATPE. He has been invited to address music education classes at Sam Houston State University, Southwestern University and Baylor University and the University of Texas. He was recently the keynote speaker for the Leadership Summit for music education sponsored by TMEC and TMEA hosted at Baylor University.

In 2003, he was named as one of the fifteen recipients of the prestigious Denius Award. This award is sponsored by the University Interscholastic League recognizing outstanding educators.
