Proposals for clinics and music showcases will be accepted April 1—June 1. Please return on April 1 to submit your proposal.
Note: For the 2016 Clinic/Convention, there will be no Product Showcases or a Publisher's Showcase. Music industry partners can continue to submit clinic proposals by selecting "Industry Sponsored" as the clinic type.
The more thorough and well-thought out your proposal, the greater weight it will receive in its review. Do not submit a proposal unless you know exactly what and how you will present. Before you submit, take time to build a thorough proposal that clearly articulates the information you intend to share and how you will present it:
The following are the topics that convention attendees indicate are the most important, listed in priority order. This attendee feedback will be considered when proposals are being reviewed:
Our attendees want to learn about new methods and strategies they can apply in their work the Monday after convention. They have also clearly stated they don't want clinics to be product commercials.
TMEA hosts showcase stages in the open areas of the convention center. These are acoustic musical performances by small ensembles with a 45-minute maximum. If accepted, the director and all musicians must comply with membership and registration requirements. The only exception is for K–12 students and students also performing in clinic demonstration groups or invited performing groups (they are provided convention badges).
All clinicians and performing group directors must comply with these requirements to participate at the convention:
