Congratulations on being a family member of a musician selected to perform at the TMEA annual Clinic/Convention! We hope that you plan to come the convention to attend the performance and much more. Check with the director of the performing group for more specific details about the performance time and any other details specific to your group's travel and attendance. About the Convention
The convention is held in the newly expanded Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center located in downtown San Antonio, Texas. Click here for travel information, including $10 day parking and shuttle service.
Our convention takes place in a 1.3-million-square-foot convention center. You will walk a lot. Wear comfortable shoes and layers to help you remain comfortable in the wide range of temperatures throughout the center.
Family members of students in a performing group can attend their group's concert without a badge. However, entrance to the Exhibit Hall requires a convention badge. If you are not a designated chaperon for the performing group, you can purchase a $10 badge at the Visitors booth in the Convention Registration area (please bring $10 cash/badge). Names of designated chaperons and performers are submitted in advance by the performing group director, and the director picks up their badges in a group at the convention. Registration Hours
Be sure to arrive early enough to shop in our massive exhibit hall accessed from the main registration area. There are over 1,300 booths where you can try out the latest products the music industry has to offer, go to a café for refreshments, and much more. Remember to pick up a family badge to gain access to the halls. Exhibit Hall Hours
