Congratulations on being a family member of a musician selected to perform at the TMEA annual Clinic/Convention! We hope that you plan to come the convention to attend the concert and much more. The following information is provided to help you prepare to attend the convention. However, you should check with the director of the performing group for more specific details about the performance time and any other details specific to your group's travel and attendance. Directions/ParkingThe TMEA Clinic/Convention is held in the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center located in downtown San Antonio, Texas. Click here for directions to the convention center. From Thursday-Saturday, free parking with shuttle service will be available at the Alamodome Lot B. Arrive early to ensure you have time to walk or ride a shuttle bus from that lot to the center well in advance. Do not leave valuables in your car. There is no security at this lot. Click here for more details. Family BadgesFamily members of students in a performing group can attend their group's concert without a badge. However, entrance to the Exhibit Halls does require a convention badge. If you are not a designated chaperon for a performing group, you can purchase a $10 badge at the Visitors booth in the Convention Registration area (please bring $10 cash/badge). TMEA encourages you to go through the exhibit halls to experience the latest products and services available with the best deals possible all under one roof! (Chaperon names are submitted in advance by the performing group director. The director picks up this group of badges at the convention.) Exhibit HallsBe sure to arrive early enough to shop in our two exhibit halls on either side of the main registration area. There are over 1,000 booths where you can try out the latest products the music industry has to offer, go to a café for refreshments, and much more. Remember to pick up a family badge to gain access to the halls. Exhibit Hall Hours . . . Performance Recording SalesConcert recordings from Honor Band and Orchestra, All-State, and invited choirs/ensembles for the Elementary and Vocal Divisions available on CD, DVD, and in MP3 format. These programs include the full schedule of the convention and many advertisements from colleges and universities on their audition dates and upcoming camps. Convention Schedule PreviewTo review the entire TMEA Clinic/Convention schedule, you can view the schedule preview that was printed in our association's member magazine in December.
