2007 Fine Arts Enrollment Study       

On March 5, TMEA and the Texas Coalition for Quality Arts Education released findings of a study revealing that Texas schools with higher levels of student participation in fine arts receive higher academic ratings and have better attendance rates and lower dropout rates. The following are the overall conclusions of this study:
Academic Rating: campuses with a higher percentage of student enrollment in fine arts courses achieved higher academic ratings.
Student Dropout: campuses with a higher percentage of student enrollment in fine arts courses report lower dropout rates.
Student Attendance: campuses with a higher percentage of student enrollment in fine arts courses reported higher attendance rates.
