TMEA Appeals Process      

The TMEA Executive Board reserves the right to serve as an appellate committee on all matters listed below:

  • Any student, parent, director, school official, or concerned party may submit an appeal.

  • Appeals must be submitted in writing to or by the Region Division Chair within 72 hours following the conclusion of the audition or the infraction. Appeals concerning All-State Orchestra String or All-State Jazz auditions must be submitted by December 1 of the competition year.

  • Appeals shall be heard in the following order:


Matters concerning Region Level Auditions

  • Region Division Chair

  • *Region Steering Committee

  • State Division Chair

  • ***Presidents Committee


Matters Concerning Area Level Auditions

  • Region Division Chair

  • **Region Chair Committee

  • State Division Chair

  • ***Presidents Committee


Matters Concerning Orchestra String or Jazz Ensemble Taped Auditions

  • Region Division Chair

  • *Region Steering Committee

  • State Division Chair

  • ***Presidents Committee


Matters Concerning Honor Band Competition

  • Region Division Chair (Region Level Only)

  • State Division Chair

  • ***Presidents Committee


Matters Concerning Honor Orchestra Competition

  • State Division Chair

  • ***Presidents Committee


Matters Concerning a Region Division Request
to Remove a Student from the All-State Process
